Regeneration and lubrication for a successful and lasting repair

A permanently dry eye surface leaves marks on the sensitive cornea. The inevitable blinking of the eyelids and the associated mechanical friction irritate the affected tissue. The consequences are redness, itching, a burning sensation and a painful feeling as if there are foreign particles in the eyes. The resulting inflammatory processes can last a very long time and become a real problem for the people concerned. In these cases, the eye must be very intensively hydrated to ensure long-term healing.

Sodium hyaluronate and heparin: a duo that promotes cell renewal of the cornea!

Sodium hyaluronate, a molecule naturally produced by the human body, is ideal for lasting and intensive lubrication of the eye. Due to its chemical structure, sodium hyaluronate can attract and fix up to several times its own moisture weight. It adheres particularly well to the ocular surface and forms an even and stable moisturizing layer that promotes the repair of the damaged ocular surface. The heparin contained in HYLO PARIN® guarantees extra humidification. This substance efficiently improves the regeneration of the irritated cornea and conjunctiva and ensures a fast and lasting recovery.

Glycerol – for painless eye blinking

The glycerol in HYLO PARIN® offers the patient two benefits. On the one hand, glycerol protects the eye cells against the potentially painful hypertonic stress. On the other hand, due to its viscosity, it can act as a lubricant, causing the eyelid to rub the irritated cornea less often.

Patented COMOD® system without preservatives and without phosphates

Preservatives, which aim to prevent the formation of bacteria in the eye drops during storage and application, can damage the cells of the eye surface. These substances can destroy the natural tear film and cause intolerance. For that reason, modern eye drops do not contain preservatives. HYLO PARIN® also contains no preservatives, because the patented multi-dose COMOD® system prevents contamination of the solution by micro-organisms. In addition to the preservatives, the phosphates present in large numbers in eye drops can also have a harmful effect if the cornea is already damaged.1 The reaction with the calcium released by the cells of the damaged cornea can lead to the formation of difficult-to-soluble crystals, causing calcification and irreversibly affecting vision. For this reason, eye drops used to treat dry and irritated eyes should not contain any phosphate. HYLO PARIN® is completely free of phosphates and thus eliminates the risk of crystal formation.
